I got this to set up multiple zones and play music simultaneously (or play different things in each zone). You can use it in a handful of configurations for 2-3 zones.

App to control audio for each zoneFlexibility to change labels and input/output settings
-
-
App design feels dated and you may need more than one app (depending on setup/use)RCA cables do not work for analog video input, you will need a separate converter/upscaler

This receiver replaced an old Integra DTR 30.4 and it's a noticeable improvement. The Dirac room correction especially is a step up over the Audyssey 2EQ the old receiver had, where even the simple 3 point calibration produced a very cohesive front stage across my mismatched front and center...

Dirac at mainstream pricing9 channel amplificationWorking VRR

Remote is mediocreNo pre-outs except subwoofers

I've really enjoyed Onkyo over the years and the AVR is doing the trick. I did buy this as a second choice admitted ( still no RZ-50s to be found). The Dirac is easy to use and works amazingly. The Onkyo app is a bit lacking with regards to speediness and usability.

It works!

App is a bit temperamental, lacking pre outs.

Price to performance I don't think you can top this TX-NR7100. Drives my 5.2.2 system without any isssues whatsoever. HDMI switching is fast. Has no issues at all with my PS5 or XBOX Series X and 4k 120hz gaming.

received arrived..... works well,... but you really have to turn up the volume knob a lot to get the sound out.. like go around 4 times on the receivers knob.... unlike my old Sony which was 1/2 turn and you were hat half volume....

Great receiver at a great price. Solid list of features and more than enough power for my needs.

Haven't been able to set up yet. Waiting on some speakers Looking through manual I really like what it should do. We will see.

So far all is good. Great sound, finally got the 2 zones connected and working. My one complaint is this, the Sonos integration is great, however, you cannot control the volume from the receiver. You have to use the Sonos app.

Basically I am a "Set It and Forget It" Type person. I upgraded to this 9.2 Channel Receiver because we bought a larger house which now accommodates 9 Klipsch Surround Sound Speakers and 2 x 12in. Subwoofers. My older Sony STR-DH790 receiver did not use Dirac Live.
