The HT-S5800 is Onkyo's mid-grade home theater in a box system. Despite being the little brother to the HT-S7700, this lower-priced Onkyo home theater is still an excellent choice.
The only thing I wish I could do is give this more than 5 stares. The system is just right for my application.Sound is outstanding and very easy to set up. You can not go wrong with the Onkyo HT-S5800 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos.
Im thinking to buy a sound bar with sub, but as i try to Compare the prices i was able came across the hts 5800, its not that expensive not so cheap great value for the money. When I finished assembled, it surprises me, it sound amazing and great result could rival the high end 5.1 sorround stereo...
Amazing sound. Best HT i'v ever had. It cannot absolutely be compared with more expensive bluetooth speakers and even less with any soundbar.
The best sound I've heard, excellent quality, just amazing
After one month the subwoofer started to pickup a low frequency thumping sound. Similar to a heartbeat. The sound persists even after subwoofer cable is disconnected. Tried calling customer support for onkyo, complete waste of time. Wish I would have gone with a different home theater system.
It is HUGE. I didn't actually set it up and just returned it. The front speakers are just so large, they would need to be wall mounted or on a low table. I just didn't have that much space to have them. All the speakers are large though, including the surround speakers and sub.
Great sound, perfect for what I need. I have a small 15x15 movie room. The sound fills the room. The voices from the center speaker could be a little clearer and more projected, but I forget about it once I am watching the movie and eating popcorn!
The quality of sound is good. The problem I have is with the settings. I think the settings can be more user-friendly and intuitive. Secondly, I am surprised not to find a RF antenna input.
Unbelievable package for the price! Seriously, unless you're a sound nerd and you feel the need to critique everything, you'll love the way this system sounds. Setup was extremely easy and the included microphone helped streamline that process even further by choosing the basic sound settings on the...
Had it installed by a professional who set it up properly. He was surprised by the quality of the sound for the cost of the system. I am very happy with this system. I replaced a 10 year old Onkyo receiver and speakers and could really tell the difference.
