I am a worldwide audio professional and have built a career with my ears and my judgment about pure sound. I own more dollars' worth of equipment than I care to state here. As such, I was astounded by how this Onkyo receiver puts out proper audio.
Just bought an Onkyo TX-RZ730 and after about 2 months of using it the Main and Sub HDMI out no longer works. I called Onkyo and they took me through some troubleshooting which I completed all as requested but it still didn't work.
I went from an old HITB system to RZ-730 and it’s definitely a huge upgrade in sound! The level of detail, clarity and accuracy of sound is amazing. I didn’t realize how much I was missing in different soundtracks, until I rewatched a few favorite movies.
I will update this as I test more, but so far love everything about the receiver but HDMI pass through. My TV has ARC HDMI port, when connect to this and set the receiver for HDMI pass through on "auto", after several hours it will change on it's on to "auto eco" which then shuts off the pass...

Great sound quality, easy to set up, so far everything works great. If I had to improve something it would be the apps. There are 2 apps to download to go with the unit (why not just one?).
Depending on your uses, this could be a fantastic five-star receiver. For me, it's just "okay" and I'll explain why. In short, it's because you can't use this to power surround back speakers if you enable rear height speakers. I never even thought that would be the case when I bought it.
