Olympus's Micro Four Thirds superzoom is, typically, the smallest in its class, and has respectable image quality too. It's a fine general purpose and travel lens, although Panasonic camera owners should take note of the lack of optical image stabilisation

  • +

Relatively small and lightweight for its type, Respectable image quality for a superzoom (very good indeed from 25mm to 45mm), Fast, practically silent autofocus, Attractive bokeh (when you can get it)

  • -

Rather high chromatic aberration at each end of the zoom, Corners rather soft at wideangle, Slightly plastic build for the price, Flash shadowing at wideangle, Lens hood not included, For Panasonic camera users, no optical image stabilization

Handling and features This superzoom lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras offers a 10.7x zoom range equivalent to a 28-300mm lens on a 35mm camera. It costs around £400 and sports Olympus' MSC silent focusing motor and a slim, compact and lightweight design.

One lens solution (almost). I carry brighter lenses for low light, a fisheye, a 12mm. Very sharp for a zoom of this range. Very fast autofocus. Very pleased. Weatherproofing a plus. Well made but light.

I use this for general photo ops usually outside. The size and weight for the range 14-150 is excellent. I will it were a little faster but for what I use it for it works fine.

I purchased this micro 4/3 lens along with the Olympus E-M1 expecting that it would be a good substitute for my previous Olympus 40-150mm regular 4/3 lens with the old camera. This lens exceeds expectations: *The 14-150mm versatility in such a light weight package is an excellent all usage lens.
