This 4.2x zoom lens from Olympus is compatible with Micro Four Thirds system cameras and provides an angle of view equivalent to a 24-100mm lens on a 35mm camera. Unusually for a lens covering this range the maximum aperture is rather slow at the telephoto end at only f/6.3.
We got this lens per recommendation from Blackmagic Design for our Studio 4K cameras. It's not the best lens, but it's definitely not the worst. I think the amazement came more from the fact it works with the BMD ATEM's remote control. SO focus function, zoom, and stop control.
Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight
Poor in Low Light
Like most reviewers, I am evaluating the product shortly after purchase. This review (and most other reviews) does not address durability which should be a major consideration of any review.
I really can't understand the complaints about this kit lens. For the price it gives you an incredible number of features. Yes it is slow at the tele end, but if you need a fast portrait lens, pick one up! Or save up for the 12-40 2.8.
Yes a bit slow, yes a bit big, but true its a good go to lens for the beginner. Unitl I started purchaing primes this was my lens of choice.(didnt know better at the time) At the time of purchase I was really into the weatherproofing thing, it seemed I really didnt need that feature.
