I had bought this product originally over 10 years ago. This one is a replacement. I use it all the time, and have always had good experiences with this item. It works very well with all my Nikon cameras and flash units. The coiled cord is a plus. This is the second one I have owned.
Ive been using these Nikon extensions for many years and have used all the iterations of them. They work well and are generally reliable. I would like to see Nikon beef up the stress relief areas where the cable joins the blocks, as this is where the wear becomes apparent and the copper strands of...
I use this for macro photography, it allows me to better control my lighting setup off camera. A great and simple to setup solution for my macro work and other close-up shots where I want my speed light at an angle to the subject. I highly recommend this for that type of work.
This remote cord works as it should and is well made. Don't count on getting the full 2.7 metres length specified as the tension created by the coiled lead would require your flash unit to be nailed down to keep it in place - 1.5-2.0 metres maximum is more realistic in practice.
Nothing too thrilling to report other than the fact that the cord simply works. I mostly use it with my Wimberley Sidekick and flash bracket to get my flash off camera to avoid red-eye when photographing wildlife. Haven't had any problems.
I love this product and it has been very helpful in my recent graduation shoot
1. It should come with a cold-foot mount for the money. I guess NIKON IS NOT LISTENING, so I have to buy a Manfrotto 262 cold-foot for every one I own.2. Coiled cords do not help anything. The cord should be straight. Why?
Youre able to adjust your master flash location for better studio lighting.
I purchased a ProMediaGear boomerang bracket. This set up is excellent and gives perfect light for off camera flash photography. My issue was attempting to find a shorter coiled cord, to avoid having extra length of SC-28 coiled cord.Totally frustrating!
Cord works perfectly but why did Nikon make it do you need to buy another attachment in order to mount the speed light on a light stand or tripod?
