I use this lens on my Nikon D750 full frame camera. The results this lens gives for general and landscape photography on this camera are incredible. I was going to say incredible for the price, but really the results are as good as any lens I've used, and I've used plenty from both Canon and Nikon.

Some excellent prime lens at most affordable price should be the main reason to have this lens in your collection. However make sure you understand the compatibility with your camera model before purchase.

Vivid photos, super-sharp, very fast, great in low light, fully manual

Just got the lens today and right out of the box I couldn't get it to autofocus on my Nikon D7000. This lens seemed to be a very tight fit when I twisted it onto the camera body. I could manually focus the lens, but couldn't get it to autofocus.

Make sure your camera has an AF motor built in (higher end Nikons, such as D7000, D7100, any FX camera) otherwise the lens will be completely manual. Also remember if you have a DX sensor, your lens won't be f/1.8 @ 50mm, but something like f/2.7 @ 75mm.

Very fast lens Bokeh is great Very inexpensive Works on FX and DX sensors Fast focus

  • -

No internal AF motor, so you need a camera that has a AF motor or be okay with manual focus Does not come with lens hood Focusing is loud

I have had this lens since about 1990. My camera got stolen our of my car, with a bunch of lenses and this was the first lens I replaced. It is truly my favorite of my collection. The optics are awesome, and the small size and light weight make it easy to carry the camera around all day.

Really nice quality photos! My room is very dark and normally when I take photos, they tend to be really dark and unappealing. With this lens, it really does make all the difference in color and clarity wise!! Definitely recommend.

Takes sharp beautiful pictures. I'm in the learning stages of using this lens but so for I am very well pleased with the product.

I bought this lens for my Nikon D7000. I'm getting more into video so I needed a lens with an aperture control ring. With bodies like the D7000 and higher you can take advantage of the aperture control ring when using AF-D lenses. You have to enable this function in the D7000's menu.

Great lense for the price, it takes great shots but i am a little dissapointed that the AF feature does not synch with my camera. It is difficut to manually focus every time you move. This I do not like when trying to get children who move a lot.

The lens does not have an internal motor and so I had to focus manually. This resulted in more than 80% of shots being out of focus with an aperature setting of 4 or bigger. When I get the focus right however, the photos are stunning.
