Despite its lightweight construction this lens does not have a ‘cheap’ feel to it and the overall performance, although not stunning, is certainly not in the milk-bottle category. The autofocus performed satisfactorily and the manual mode proved usable.

Pincushion distortion at the long end., Edge performance not as good as the centre.
Here's a deal: An upgrade of Nikon's original digital-only tele kit zoom, this new 55-200mm f/4-5.6 ($250, street) adds Vibration Reduction and a number of optical improvements for only $70 more. A 3.6X 82-300mm equivalent zoom, it's not expected to be bundled in Nikon DSLR kits any time soon.
Purchasers of Nikon DSLR cameras that come with 18-55mm or 18-70mm lenses will probably want a long zoom to extend their shooting capabilities. The recently-released AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED has been designed specifically to meet this need.
For just under $200.00 [or half that for a refurb] you can NOT beat this lens. The color and clarity are an amazing upgrade from the 18-55mm kit lens. Even though the kit lens is not that shabby.Even at close range this lens performs exceptionally well, with great detail & Bokeh.
Great bonus that came with the particular bundle that I purchased excellent case great online resources very happy with the entire bundled purchased.
Love the ease in my purchase and got it fast!

Great addition to my Military photography kit, should give me some great shots of my infantry squad mates in action and when we go hang out.

Zoom is great, 200mm is good enough for most things that I photograph. Even though it's refurbed, mine came perfect. Don't really know what else to say, it does what it's suppose to while giving me great images... I'm happy.

Going from 50-75 is a little loose, but after that it feels like it's the right tightness. By tight I mean how easy/hard it is to turn the zoom.
one of the best kit lenses i've seen, great quality, good construction, especially for the price. don't bother trying to manual focus it, the ring is tiny and hard to use, i did find the autofocus a bit slow but thats expected on a non USM lens but all up a great lens, good price and a great way to...
