The Nikon D5300 follows the Nikon D5200 and there is an important difference between the two. The D5300 has a new image sensor without a low-pass filter, which contributed to an excellent performance in our resolution tests.

The Nikon D5300 is a fantastic camera. It's small, light, competent and can make breathtaking images in any light. Colors are fantastic, and it focuses and works well in dim light with crazy ISOs unheard of just a few years ago.

I owned a D5100 before I bought this camera. I'm a commercial professional photographer; but I also teach photography at a local art center. My students were intimidated by my pro level cameras, so I thought I would purchase an entry level camera with a kit lens and see what they were seeing.

After careful consideration I elected to go for the D5300 for several reasons - the newer 24MP sensor without the optical low-pass filter, the newer Exspeed 4 software, the flip-out screen, decent ISO at the upper end, HD video at 60fps, WIFI connection...

I was going to get the Nikon D3400 but decided on the D5300 as it has built in wifi for picture transfers and a GPS chip for geo-tagging your pictures. The GPS works great outside but don't expect it to work inside like your other devices do. I am very pleased with this camera and all it's features.

I have been using this for a week and I must say that I am very impressed with this camera! The automatic Geotagging and WiFi sharing works well and is very convenient. The camera takes awesome images in any condition.

It's a bunch of good stuff to play with, but somethings have to be clarified, camera body made in Taiwan, not Japan. Tripod head handle is made of a very low quality plastic, in my case the european power adapter didn't fit on the american charger. All the rest so far so good.

This is my first DSLR and it is extremely easy to use. I thoroughly enjoy using this camera in regards to taking pictures of my newborn son as well as my daughters. The video aspect is tremendous and I cannot wait to use this during the soccer season for my 3 and 5 year old daughters.

This is nice compact camera with a lot of features that are easy to use. Anyone can take great pictures and look like pro, just use auto mode. I like swivel screen that let you take pictures from different angles. The only drawback is that Nikon should include lens hood with the kit.

Love the camera, my first DSLR. Thought about the Canon T5i or the T6i (still not out yet for some reason) but this camera is far and away better.
