I bought this camera to use while scuba diving. I was amazed at how well it performs, and so was every body else on the dive boat, even those with elaborate camera setups. I was also concerned that it was too small for one-handed operation but it was no problem. The auto flash worked well.

I needed a good knock around digital point and shoot camera. The Nikon Coolpix W300 seems to fit my needs, something I can take to the beach, back packing, kayaking, without fear of breaking it. My only dislike is the lack of manual control, no f stops or shutter speed that I can set.

As a prosumer - I'm a professional artist and take lots of photos for reference, of my work, and for fun, but am not a professional photographer, what I need is a camera I can take hiking and kayaking, and everywhere, so I can take good photos spontaneously and not worry about the camera.

I bought this Camera for outdoor pictures in bad weather . pictures are as good as my D-7000 and it take great movies .
