Nikon have long been a good name in cameras both professional and even down to small amateur units. The NikonL340 is such a beast available from some retailers for under £100.
The Nikon Coolpix L340's most appealing feature is its 28x optical zoom, and possibly its low, bargain price. For under £120 you get a camera which is capable of taking some good shots, but it relies heavily on you only taking those shots in bright light.
The Nikon Coolpix L340 is a predictably minor upgrade over last year’s L330 , with the only improvement being a bump in zoom range from 26x to 28x. A few years ago this would have been big news, but given many pocketable compact cameras are now capable of 30x zoom, whilst high-end bridge cameras...
This is a very nice camera. Very easy to use. Color resolution isn't real true, but very close. I use it alot for pictures in my business, & it works very well. Haven't found anything wrong with it at all.
Nicest camera I've ever owned, having owned many over the course of nearly 50 years. Have always opted for solid, basic cameras, mostly "fully manual" types for the fun and control. This little gem has lots of bells and whistles in comparison to my historical makes and models.
I have lupus with some mobility issues and a bit of vision loss. It has been years since I used any camera that was not my phone. Most of the time, the phone does as well as any point and shoot camera, but there are some things - like the moon - that it just cannot capture.
For a basic camera, it's decent. If I could do it all over again, I would buy a DSLR. I find it's hard to taken stable and sharp photos with the Coolpix L340. The reviews continuously said it was a 'point and shoot' but if I attempt to just point and shoot, it will be a blurry photo.
Camera works great. Sometimes the pictures are blurry if there is not flash if the person is moving. I took great pictures of the moon and solar eclipse with no special equipment. Pictures are clear. Only downside is it takes 4 AA batteries. Would be much better if it had a rechargeable battery.
Auto focus doesn't work that great, and is really not worth using indoors or in any environment that has less light that a cloudless day in the afternoon in Texas.
This camera does a great job for an inexpensive camera.
Bought this camera for the 20 mp. My phone takes better pictures. Wanted to take quality photos of first grandchild. Glad my iPhone was available.
Nice camera. Better than the Sony I have had for 10 years.
Great first starter camera. 5-Star!
