Have you recently won the lottery? Do you like to shoot sports? Nikon's latest flagship 400mm f/2.8 may be for you then. The price of over £10,000 means only lottery winners and large news agencies may be able to justify the cost.
This new Nikon 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is giant leap in 400mm telephoto lens world !I already own the fantastic AF-I 400mm f/2.8 so why buy that new $12.000 400mm f2.8 ?Well, first (and most important) is the weight, that lens weight only half of my AF-I 400mm f/2.8 !
Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Sharp, well designed and executed (lower tripod profile and non-slip hand grip are nice touches), hand holdable (when necessary), and two pounds lighter. Extremely fast focus! What's not to like? The price? Maybe. I upgraded, selling the older model meant only a couple thousand out of pocket.
I love this lens, one of the best of my collection to date. This lens takes some great shots of wildlife in motion or standing still, can't believe the clear sharp pictures it captures.
This is my third 400mm 2.8 lens so, I have a history of being completely satisfied with the 400mm line of Nikkor lens. As technology moves forward better optics, features and cameras push the performance.
