The AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 E ED lens is an FX format powerful telephoto zoom, ideally aimed at sports and wildlife photographers. It has a constant but modest f/5.6 maximum aperture, which enables a fairly compact design for its focal length.

Just received this behemoth two days ago. My initial impression is : Nikon Got It Right On This One ! It looks and feels very well built, heavy but worth all the lifting. VR really does give a 4.5 + Stops advantage.
Well Built Professional Grade (Solid and Heavy) Fast focusing 4.5-Stop+ VR Improvement CONFIRMED Beautiful Bokeh Excellent Pricing Includes Lens Shade and Tripod Colar Super Cool Looking
The included lens bag is a joke
Took it to my grandson's football game and got shots I never got (using a D750) before. Close ups of his face during a play as well as slightly wider shots of the play itself. Focus is fast and the lens is too.
So there was a huge hole in Nikon’s lens lineup for the average guy like me. Until now I couldn’t afford a super tele to take wildlife pics and super low depth of field photos with. Bam! So glad I bought this lens.
