I use these for work and have put them through a lot of use, and a fair amount of abuse, since purchasing them and they have held up superbly. Nice clear images in a variety of light conditions. I have not found comparable image quality in the same price and weight class.
Just used these for the first time for whale watching on the Oregon Coast. These binoculars zoomed in from a great distance and made all of the water spouts and whale tails look unbelievably clear.
Iu2019ve used binoculars since I was a kid I killed my first buck at 6 years old! These are worth the buy so much more comfortable on the eye than even high dollar glass! Very good for scouting ducks or deer, that will be what I use them for anyway .
This is our second purchase of this model by Nikon because one set is not enough. We have had the first ones for several years and they do a great job. I take them on day hikes and have even taken them backpacking. They have clear optics and are easy to get a quick focus.
I bought these for my wife for when we go hiking and/or bird watching. I have a pair of Steiner's that cost over twice as much as these and I really can't say they are any better then these Nikons!! Of course we'll have to see how long they last, but I would highly recommend these.
Great Optics, Light weight
I was shocked to see such great quality for the amount of money spent. I would recommend these binoculars to anyone on a small budget.
I have been using a pair of Bushnell 8x42's (my first binocs) for over 20 years for birdwatching and hunting. We are going on an Alaskan cruise in June and I wanted to upgrade. The price was right and just using them in the backyard I can see a dramatic difference.
I bought these for £154 at Heathrow airport. The optics sparkle and their low light performance is good. I can see better by moonlight with these than the naked eye. Like many reviewers, I can attest that the lens caps are substandard.
Love the Binoculars. Price is right. However, lens covers are not well designed. I'll end up loosing them soon.
Great item...very clear and excellent quality. However, I have only given it 4 stars due to the fact that the lens covers for the bottom large end are poor quality and easily fall off.
