I needed a switch so that I wouldn't have to rely on WiFi at home, and I wouldn't have to worry about bandwidth issues during video sessions. This switch works like a charm, it took me less than a minute to set up, and I'm set up just like in the office.
This NetGear Unmanaged Switch does exactly what I need it to do by just attaching ethernet cables. My fiber gateway/router connects to wifi repeater by ethernet (not mesh) which in turn connects to this switch. My desktop computers and printers are connected by ethernet to this switch.
For the price it's hard to beat this little switch. It's so quite you don't even know it's on!
I needed a GS105Ev2, which is a lot more switch than this GS105. However, I had a GS105E in a very non-demanding application, so I replaced it with this 105, and re-purposed the 105E. The GS105 allows Ethernet devices to communicate at 10/100/1000 Mbps.
Great ethernet switch. It was easy to install and this switch does not get all too hot under load. As my demand for more ethernet wires grew, I found myself quickly filling the 4 ports available as one if the ports is used to connect to your modem. I now own a 16 port switch coupled with this one.
I bought this little switch to wire up my office to lighten my wifi network a bit. I haven't noticed any problems with bandwidth. The box looks strong, it's not a vulgar plastic box... I'm very happy with this Netgear!
I needed this device to add hardwired connections to my router which only had one port. I’ve used these devices in the past and find they work perfectly and are extremely reliable.
Use this for my college dorm. Have 3 ports in use and has gotten me through the first semester with no issues.
Took it out of the box, plugged it in and it worked as I have come to expect from Netgear. I like the metal case which is why I selected this model.
I had an old version I thought there was something wrong with it as none of my browsers worked with programming it. I bought it a long time ago so that I could use vlans from my linux computer. I know how to use vlans with linux I had done it many times for work. I wanted to use them at home.
