Do not buy this or any Netgear product
I bought this about a month ago and it installed fine but when I was trying to open UDP port 123,500 and 4600 for Cellspot by Tmobile it will not do it. I called Netgear support and talked to Level 1 support on April 15 she tried it and could not help me so she tranfere to level 2 > He spent few hours to fix the problem with remote session and finally he told me that he will have to refer to Engineering. This is been going on for 4 weeks and still is not resolved. Each time I call them they tell me that Engineering has not responded. I call them every couple of days. Their support is overseas and I tried to call corporate office in California but no one answers the phone.

I owned the first version of this model and it worked great for 7 years. The upgraded model I recently purchased doesn’t work as well and I had to call technical support so they could change the settings for the internet speeds to work semi-correctly. There is no button in the current app to upgrade the firmware and the system says it requires a firmware upgrade. I called tech support and tech said it can’t be done on their end and with no firmware upgrade button it can’t be done. Don’t waste your money on this model since the internet speed service varies from slow to medium and back to slow continuously and the firmware can’t be upgraded!

Just recently bought and installed a new Nighthawk AC1900 at the suggestion of Xfinity. Our modem and router were very old, and our service was constantly dropping and the signal was not strong. Love that it is a modem AND router in one. Install and registration was super easy, and we were up and running in no time! Going to use it for a bit, but considering getting a Nighthawk extender for all our devices upstairs…but so far, service and signal strength is excellent all through the house. For reference, the AC1900 is located in our downstairs living room; we have a 2,400 square foot, 2 story house. Overall, very happy with our purchase!

A Great All-In-One!
This is a wonderful product! It had been about 5 years since I last upgraded my wifi setup, so the change was much needed. The Nighthawk was SUPER easy to set up, and I was connecting all of my devices to the network within half an hour! I love that you can control everything from the app, making everything super accessible! The app is also super easy to use, very user friendly for my mom! The connection and speed of internet is great, and I can use multiple devices for streaming, gaming, and zoom. I am super happy with my purchase and the price point. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more Netgear products in the future.

Awesome!
We decided to upgrade from a Motorola to a Netgear due to Motorola being old and slow. We upgraded to Netgear and have the modem/router. It’s absolutely awesome! It’s great it’s 2 in one, easy set up from provider to modem/router, easy to factory reset if you forgot private and important log in information. The best thing about this is that once settled in, you are able to see how many devices are on select wifi, have control of pausing select devices from wifi, can name the networks, change network passwords, see the amount of megabytes used in the household and make a guest network. I’m still paying with it but thus far, SATISFIED customer!

Serves the purpose for the price
I recently purchased the Nighthawk ac1900 as a result of my old Netgear modem/router shutting down. So far, I have been impressed with speed and reliability in connectivity. I am not a computer/wifi expert by any means; however, I have several devices that require dedicated wifi capabilities with minimal disruption. I have used Netgear in the past because of the reliability and ease of use. The only downside is that is NOT plug and play with Xfinity as stated on the box and with instructions. I still had to call Xfinity and go through the 2 hour process of setting up the modem/router with them. They needed information off of the device to

Netgear Router Awesome
Spectrum updated my router on Christmas Eve day Thursday. On Friday Christmas I found out that my phone software on my work laptop would not connect. After lots of trouble shooting by my boss and IT it came down to spectrum. I called Spectrum they dispatched a tech the following week. He changed my modem and router out for a router modem combination. My issue was resolved I thought. This new one kept dropping wifi signal. I then bought my New Netgear Nighthawk router modem combo. It has been two weeks and absolutely no issues at all. I love this Nighthawk Router Modem combo as life is now back to normal. Phew!
