I love this turntable I think you will need to spend Quite a bit more to significantly Improve it's performance
Very versatile and it sounds great. Used the USB to record to digital format and my long USB cord did not work. It worked on my old turntable just fine. Evidently the unit does not put out a strong enough signal. But overall, it's an awesome unit.
I purchased this turntable to take the place of a Rega RP1 that is having issues with the motor. You could say I play a lot of records. This is the first time I have ever purchased audio gear without auditioning. With Music Direct's solid reputation, I felt at ease doing so.
I still haven't received this item.
Noticed improved playback right away
I wanted to update the phono preamp section within my late 1970's Phase Linear 3500 preamp--low and high end sound better--matching up well with the VPI Scout and Dynavector DV-20x MC cartridge.
Ive had this turntable a couple of weeks now and at this point, Im pleased. I replaced an older Technics direct drive model with several automatic features. Candidly, I was happy with the Technics unit until several of the automatic features stopped working and it was not worth the cost to repair.
