The lens arrived in an attractive faux leather, foam lined box looking more like what I would expect with a fancy watch. Since then Ive shot about 200 photos encompassing landscapes, birds and closeups. Thankfully, all the controls glide smoothly and the lens mounts tightly to the Fuji camera body.
Well made and ready for those times in available light and portraiture photography when you need a large aperture lens.
This is a great lens of high quality. It is a very affordable version of a Voigtlander Nokton or something equivalent. Its not a Zeiss lens, sharp across the frame and perfect. Instead, its a wide aperture lens, very sharp in the middle with fast falloff to the edges creating a beautiful separation...
I have gotten some great shots with this lens. Very nice bokeh.
I've had lens for 8 months now and it has been glued to my xt2 when I use it. List of things I love about this,1. Very sharp lens even at 0.95(in the center) and gets sharper over all as the f number increases, f2. 8 till f8 are amazing sharpness2. Shallow depth of field is very pleasing3.
I previously gave this lens a 2 star review due to its price and apparent lack of exposure benefit. While it's true that the lens appears maybe .2-.3 stops brighter than the Fuji 35mm f1.4 (on an X-T2), I have come to realize that's not because of any deficiencies on the part of this lens.
Beautiful bokeh, plenty of speed, and fully manual operation make this a dream lens for me. There are a number of rave reviews of this lens on the internet, and they pretty much say what needs to be said. Also, it gets pretty sharp across the frame by F5.6 for use with landscapes.
I am so so so happy with my purchase. Absolutely stunning lens (especially for the price) and a heck of a lot of fun to play with. I'd reocmmend it to anyone that enjoys portraiture or are simply passionate about photography. Manual focus helps me feel more connected to the pictures I'm taking.
This lens is not great, it is INCREDIBLE, SUPERB and a JOY !!!The quality of the body and the optics, one of the best out there in the photo world.
Very well built and solid. Image quality is more than good. Attached photo was taken at f0.95 handheld
