Packed with innovative features, Microsoft's Surface Laptop Studio presages a new breed of laptop for creative pros who are pen-input devotees. One big quibble: Performance isn’t nearly class-leading.

Unique pull-forward touch screen, Excellent keyboard, Groundbreaking haptic touchpad, Robust digital stylus support, including magnetic holder, 120Hz screen refresh rate, Long battery life

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio is the most versatile professional notebook computer I’ve ever used. After using this device for only a relatively short period of time, it’s clear that Microsoft made peace with the idea that they could, and would, create a multi-tiered laptop machine with a...

The Laptop Studio isn’t necessarily trying to win over people who are eyeing a MacBook Pro or a Dell XPS 15 or even a regular old Surface Laptop. The convertible touchscreen and Surface Pen are the main reasons to buy this thing, and everything else about it is just fine if those features are...

Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop Studio is both familiar and unique at the same time. If you don’t peer too closely, you’ll see what appears to be a standard, clamshell laptop. The similarities to Apple’s MacBook Pro designs are undeniable — the rounded corners, the layout of the keyboard and trackpad...

Whether you like the Surface Laptop Studio or not will hinge on whether you do creative work, it’s an expensive piece of hardware – and at 4 pounds, I would like to see a little more power under the hood. Still, as far as a Gen 1 device goes, it’s none too shabby.

“The Surface Laptop Studio is, finally, the Pro-level Surface PC many have always wanted.”

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio is far from a gimmick. Even if it wasn’t a convertible, it would be a great laptop, with a solid keyboard, and nice-looking design. Add in the ability to convert the display, and you have a great product on your hand.

Has Microsoft crafted a capable creative powerhouse or another almost winner?...
Love this laptop. It's mid size, not too small and not too big. Also, super powerful and fast. I work on my pc for a living and it has to be top notch. This one I highly recommend .
I've used this laptop for everyday daily tasks including using it for meeting and typical browsing. I've also used it to edit videos and I love the battery. I've been able to use the laptop all day without having to find an outlet.
So far so good. I really haven’t put it through its paces. It definitely is heavy for a tablet. Feels like it ways the same as a MacBook from 5-8 yrs ago. However I bought it for the compromise in performance and to be used as a tablet. It works well with the ms office suite so far.
Fast, easy to learn and use, good battery life, overall a quality product. Only negatives, doesn't come with surface pen, no USB port (has several USB-C ports), and its FREAKING EXPENSIVE! Would recommend so far, only owned for a month.
This is everything I wanted for school, digital note-taking is so easy with this laptop. Been using it about three weeks now and I actually use each mode quite often. I love it!
This is a well built product. I have had it for about 2 weeks and am happy with the screen, keyboard and overall build quality . I like how it is not just a laptop or just a tablet.
I've always been a fan of surface devices because they hold up over time, are built really well, and feel premium. This device does not disappoint - It handles live videos, dozen+ tabs concurrently, and light (non-FPS intensive) gaming when you just want something easy and the xbox is not easily...
Amazing laptop. Super fast. Love the crisp screen would but another one in a minute
I wanted really wanted to love it. It has so much design going for it but in the end, the battery life of only two hours wouldn't work for me. Outside reviewers got 4 or 5 hours and I know there are settings that could have been adjusted.
I tried three completely different computers and each one had the blue screen of death by the next day! The only commonality I can see is that I installed CSP and Adobe CS6 on it (with purchased and legal licenses) and maybe that crashed it, but I’ve never seen a software do that before.
