i was initially happy. however, my fridge broke down less than 4 years. i travel alot that i barely open/close or use my fridge. it is literarly empty and new since the day i bought it. out of the blue when i am on business trip overseas, my fridge is completely dead. the Maytag warranty covers the parts, however, the service fee is the same cost as to buy a new fridge. this is bad. Maytag is not durable. they should advertise what consumer would expect... 3-4 years life duration. otherwise this is concealing the quality truth from consumer to make the right decision. almost...false advertisement for its quality

Looks great from the outside, but it stops there
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The one positive is the outside look. I like the door handles and the fingerprint resistant stainless steel is nice. However, from the day the refrigerator was delivered it makes a loud knocking sound when the compressor kicks on which can be heard throughout the house. When it’s not knocking, the compressor is still extremely loud. I was mistaking it for my dryer. The cheap plastic cover at the very bottom vibrates when the compressor is on which contributes to the overall noisiness. The drawers are very cheaply made and poor quality. I had nothing but issues with this refrigerator from day one, and am now in the process of getting a return.

Temperature Setting Issues
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is quite loud and seems to run a lot. The temperature setting seems less than ideal. You just have four option in the fridge. When I have it on ideal, a digital thermometer I bought to put inside says 28 to 38 degrees, and my oatmeal that I put in to soak overnight freezes solid. If I put it one step warmer, then the temperature goes up to 44 at times, which is 4 degrees above what experts ever recommend it to get, so I'm concerned about the temperature regulation with this unit. Overall, it looks great on the outside and has plenty of space, but I don't think I'd probably recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was concerned that my current fridge was failing. It did not fail and has always been great but I bought this as a backup. I distill drinking water for tea, coffee, cooking, drinking and have kept several gallon pickle jars over the years that have been used over and over. I keep jars of water and dog and cat food in the fridge also to preserve it through the hot summer. Blueberry season saw me packing containers of blueberries in the fridge until I could process them. Without the ice-maker I have much better storage space. The flat doors appeal to me. I am hoping to see many years of good service from this refrigerator.

Disappointed with Maytag Fridge—Stopped Cooling
I purchased a Maytag fridge in 2020, and after only four years, it has stopped cooling and freezing properly. I’ve tried everything—cleaning the vents, unplugging and resetting—but nothing works. It's frustrating, especially when I compare it to my 15-year-old Samsung fridge that has never given me any issues. I thought Maytag was known to be quality and purchase expecting 20 years of good use.
I’m really disappointed in the quality of this Maytag fridge. To make matters worse, I’m struggling to find a way to contact Maytag for support, and I’m concerned that my warranty might not cover this issue based on what I’ve read in other reviews.
Maytag, please have someone reach out to me. I need help resolving this issue.

It is a beautiful piece of modern sculpture!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge is just gorgeous. Yes, of course it works fine. But beyond that, it seems like a piece of modern art in our kitchen -- very sleek. And the brushed stainless steel exterior is very easy to clean. The only downside is the compressor -- this is one of those new kind that runs for longer periods, rather than turning on and shutting off. It produces a quiet hum, but it is not silent. The most shocking part of this fridge is that it cost exactly the same as one we bought fifteen years ago, almost to the penny. If you factor in inflation, that means that the new one was much, much cheaper. Amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to be sufficient, several disappointments evident upon initial delivery / setup. refrig door is totally out of control unbalanced, if you take your hand off it, it swings wildly to the hinge stops and probably will break in time. Icemaker never fit this model and according to whirlpool/maytag, parts are not available to make it fit. so we tray ice. refrig setting (ideal factory set) is just next to freeze. Ultimate reason for keeping is I had to make a 'hole' to fit a 21st century appliance into a 1960s kitchen cabinetry. and it fits like a glove but anything bigger is impossible.

A Quality Product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're very pleased with the performance of our new refrigerator. We bought it online; the store didn't have any of this model in stock, so we couldn't see "the real thing" in person. Due to our last refrigerator (not Maytag) breaking down 2 weeks after the warranty ran out (costing a fortune to repair), and doing a lot more investigation, we decided on the Maytag "no frills" side-by-side version. We like its performance; I just wish it was a little wider in the fridge side. We have a separate freezer in our garage that we use, but the freezer section is fine for day to day items we need.
