Exactly and more than I expected. I was planning on using an external amp to power my two fronts (Altec Model 19) but this works just fine with the internal amps. (Yes, I would love to make the house bounce off the foundations and my ears bleed, but the power provided to them and the rest of the...
Power, configurability, being able to adjust each speaker gain, smaller physical size.
I needed a slimmer receiver to go in our game room. This model was one of the few that could fit in our shelves. It's not the most powerful but has plenty of juice to power our built in speakers. Set up was a breeze and Heos functionality was a plus!
Slim, Heos, AirPlay, easy set up.
Not as powerful
I needed to replace an old Sony receiver, and I wanted the new piece to fit in a vertically narrow shelf. So, the slim design was the primary driver of my purchase decision. I'd never owned any Marantz components before. I've had it up and running for about a month now.
Slim Profile Fits Cabinet ShelfIntuitive Interface DesignPlenty of Power
Simply, it sounds better than my former Yamaha and is more intuitive to use, especially for my wife!! We love it!
Easier to use, remote for sure, than old unit.Quality seems a lot better also.
Every feature on this model is what I knew it would be except the remote. The remote does not illuminate....my last Marantz had it.What a disappointment!
I've always liked decent quality sound, however it took a backseat while bringing up the family. I had a cheap LG All in one Home Cinema system which recently went bang so decided it was time to get something a bit better.
Easy to set up, simple online menu and sounds pretty good. Have found I’ve needed to dial the bass back and up the centre volume - unusual as most self calibrating systems I’ve found a bit dry. paired with kef “eggs”, 50wpc seems plenty for me.
The simplicity of operation is a boon given how complicated former AV amps I have owned proved to be to set up. The amp isn't in the same league as some of its contemporaries but none of them will fit as space is at a premium.
I bought the Marantz NR1510 to replace a Denon amp that I had purchased in 2003 but which finally gave up. I have had to invest in a couple of HDMI cables but that has simplified and reduced the amount of wiring. The Marantz to act as a hub for my home theatre aswell as standard TV.
The set up process was a bit frustrating as the various inputs didn't seem to want to connect up, but after I abandoned it, I gradually discovered that everything, including wifi, were available to use.
