This tripod seemed perfect for a run and gun video tripod because of its light weight and the stability and reliability you expect from Manfrotto. However, I didn't notice until after I received it that the feet are fixed and flat and larger than most tripod feet.
The Head:The head is decent, but the spring loaded counter balance is near useless unless your camera just happens to the weight that it can balance. Otherwise it's well built and has held up to regular use over the last year. The Sticks: Simply said, they're junk.
Flimsy, but cheap and does the job very well. This isn't built for fieldwork, or telescoping lenses. If you're covering small events, this will work just fine.
This tripod provides some very smooth pans & tilts and is a great value as well. Works well for what I'm aiming to achieve and in budget. My biggest complaint is that the head will come loose from the sticks if you try to pan while it's locked (rather than not move at all).
Amazing. And the fluidity of the ball head is excellent. The legs are sturdy and it's well built. It also comes with a bag for storing and traveling. My only gripe is where the leveler is located. Definitely placed in an awkward place.
Spreader on this tripod is so light and flimsy that the legs would get slightly shifted during simple camera adjustments between takes during an interview. Center of spreader does not and cannot stay 100% in the down/locked position.
I purchased to use with my Sony AX33 camcorder and I love it. I shot five sessions Saturday and the drag was smooth. While the camcorder is not a heavyweight, for what we use it for it works fine. I really liked the ease at which the quick release worked.
Easy to level, light steady tripod. Confortable for travel.
Is light, easy to carry and perfect for my Canon-Vixia hf G40. Very precise. Good investment!
I have been using this for 2 years now. While this comes with a great tripod head, I have found that the legs are flimsy and a little rickety, and the plastic adjustment levers get dirty and become very difficult to open and close. The zipper on my bag broke within the first 6 months.
