Don't buy this. Literally the first time we tried to pivot the center column to the 90 degree position, an internal plastic piece snapped and sent the center column, ball head, and $[$]worth of camera and lens flying out of the tripod legs.
I bought this tripod for use with a spotting scope, a chronograph and a camera. It came fully assembled and ready to go. I have used it in all 3 roles and it works better than expected. The next test is to take it on a hiking trip and see how it performs in difficult terrain.
Easy to use, very sturdy. I added a fluid video head to it and it works great.
If you do any art copywork (paintings, drawings, etc.), this tripod and geared head are exactly what you want. The geared head is heavy but well made and allows you to finely tune your composition so that you are completely level to the ground and artwork. Skip the ball head, you'll go nuts.
I use this tripod in my studio and I cant be more happy and satisfied, great quality, great product, expensive but you know what you will get when you buy Manfrotto .
I bought this tripod along with a ManfrottoMHXPRO3W 3 way pan/tilt head for use with my 100mm spotting scope and A77ii with Tamron 150-600mm lens. This baby is solid as a rock and with no wobble or vibration at all.
Super stable and quality made.
Very good design. Seems well constructed and has flexible uses.

Solid as a rock and nice and compact
