I'm a fan of Manfrotto and this ball head is just one more example of why. It is a solid piece of equipment that does exactly what it is intended to do and does it well!. I had been using an older styled pan/tilt head and could not be happier about switching to a ball head. Operation is simple.

I messed around with a few other brands on sale and sent them back. Finally decided to spend a bit more and get the Manfrotto and this was a good lesson in value. This is a ballhead that is very well constructed and simply has a feeling of long lasting quality and endurance.

I have several Manfrotto tripods and interchange the heads depending on the task at hand. I purchased this head to work with a highly engineered watercolor field box which requires a sturdy, yet adjustable ball head mounted on a Manfrotto tripod (recommended by the box builder).

This was just the ball head to use with my Manfrotto MT190CXPRO4 tripod. I have a Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W which I love but it's too heavy for long hikes and climbs. The ball head was 1 lb less than my Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W. Just 1.2 lbs.vs 2.2 lbs. Works great with my Nikon 70-200 2.8 lens.

It works, better than other brands which after a while get a bit of movement in the ball.Didn't want to have to move to the next plate size up so this works for me.

I was planning on copying dome old slides using a light box (also from Wex and ideal) but found that my quick-release Manfrotto Head (322RC2) was not really suitable for the job - when tightened sufficiently to stay in place it was difficult to adjust precisely with a heavy camera..
