I have owned this for several months and haven't had any problems. Love this one. Then the other night I was photographing on the streets of Chicago and was headed back to my hotel. I had my camera on my tripod carrying it on my shoulder.
Way better than a ball head when using long lenses.
Excellent Manfrotto Head. I recommend.
In general I find all Manfrotto products overpriced BUT I will admit they are solid and very well machined plus they seem to last forever. "Expensive but worth it" :-)
The sliding handles are great to make the unit smaller for transport. It works well.
Great tripod head. Bought it to replace an 804RC2 that got run over by a car, not a pretty story except that the tripod survived unscathed. The collapsible handles are great, especially for packing in up.
It is solid, and pans smothly. I use this head almost exclusively.
Fanatically made mount and tripod. Works flawlessly and has been crafted with fine materials. A must for beginners to pros
It works, not very sturdy but pretty light. Made of plastic resin, not metal. Good match with my carbon fiber small Manfrotto tripod. Retractable handles are a nice touch, makes it more compact for transporting.
This is a great tripod head. I gave this a 4 out of 5 because I am not sure I like the hideaway handles.
