This is a light weight but sturdy portable tripod. I use it with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS60 for stop motion and time lapse photography. It is great for this and for stills. It can do video in a pinch too.
I wanted a backup tripod that wouldn't weigh me down on long hot hikes at the beach in Florida. Works great with my Sony A6300, swivel is smooth for taking videos. This tripod is amazingly sturdy and well built, Manfrotto tripods rock!
It's a good tripod for lighter DSLR's, but the compact part of it, where there are two levers on the side, don't hold up too well for heavier DSLR's. In fact, I found them really annoying in general because the tripod kept falling over to it's side. I would recommend getting a different tripod.
Ive had a professional Manfrotto tripod for many years, but its too heavy and cumbersome to use for everyday personal shooting. This model is perfect. Its sturdy, yet lightweight and very portable.
I am really enjoying this tripod. The only thought was I thinking that it came with an extra plate. It didn't so this is a little frustrating especially when changing cameras.
Small well made monopod at affordable price
light and inexpensive
Having owned a Benbo monopod previously, which was sturdily built, rock solid when implanted on the ground to mount an SLR as it was a two-piece extensible monopod, but in it's collapsed state far too long to even pack in a suitcase for travel, this Manfrotto Compact fits the bill for travel...
I love photography, but it usually requires us to be in all odd positions. Being tall can make this difficult! I needed a tripod that was going to meet my height - this one is perfect!
I have owned the tripod for 1 month. It is well made and simple to use. Sturdy and stable for my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 (approx 1 kg) and could clearly bear more weight, recommended max is 3 kg. There is no level; you will need to use the level in your camera viewfinder.
