I have put off buying a good set of sticks for years. After using other companies Miller, Gitzo, and Sachtler tripods, this set ranks up there with them for quality and ease of use without the higher price tag, though they are not that cheap.
In addition to being a phenomenal photo/video tripod choice, the 535 Carbon Fiber video tripod is great for use with sliders. As the legs are sturdier and can carry more weight, they can compensate for the extra strain of the shifting center of gravity of a slider with a camera and accessories.
Use with a Sony F5 or FS7 with DSLR lenses and a FSB8 fluid head as a lightweight option to my heavy duty legs and video 18. It's very satisfying and versatile at such a low weight. The clasp locks are much easier to manage than twist locks.
I appreciate how light these are. I love how tall they can go. They are really easy to use. There's just one problem. Camera shake! When I use them with a light camera rig I cannot tilt or pan without serious camera shake.
I was getting some kickback on pans with my Sachtler Ace M. My research led me to believe the head was very good but that the legs were the weak link. So I got these sticks to use with the Sachtler 75mm ball head. They are much stabler, and have solved my problems.
Light weight and durable
Durable, Lightweight, Simple Controls
This tripod is great, very sturdy, light for how big it is. The shoulder locking mechanism is a little too easy to push, minor thing. 5 stars for quality and sturdiness,
I paired it with the 504HD head... awesome combo. Good height. Light weight. High capacity. A great setup!
Its my first video tripod, for my first video assignment. Well if price is not an issue then the is the best thing you can go for. Compared to other video tripods or other steady tripods, this one is surprisingly light. I used with it the Manfrotto 504 and the Nikon D4 & Nikon D800E
The tripod is great. Quite sturdy and stable. The quick lock leg extensions operate very securely. The only thing I'd like to see added is some way to keep the legs together when picking it up to transport it. The built in stiffness helps but that will loosen as time goes on.
