I tried to like it but couldn't. The lockouts killed me. Not sure what Manfrotto was thinking. I realize that for some of you, the lockouts may not be a big deal. BUT, if you've been shooting on Manfrotto for a while (like me), or own other Manfrotto heads (also like me), or shoot with people who...
I have mixed feelings about this head but I will be keeping it. We are running a small camera for which this head is too big but there are no small fluid heads that are this good or better for anything resembling a reasonable price. This head was the compromise.
Great for shooting video with my DSLR!
I do like these heads, but they don't have the longest life span. This is my second one and the first wore out after a few years. They do have a good payload weight and provide pretty smooth results with easy operation.
This is our go to tripod head for everything.
I was a happy user of the predecessor to this product, the 501. Never had a problem with it. Needed a second head. 501 no longer in production, replaced by this one. Seemed impressive. It was not.
the best combination to shot videos with a sony camera stable and easy to carry!
Built like a tank, very sleek and professional look, and the fluid head is a dream. I will say, if I have the fluid head locked down too much and turn in counter clockwise without holding the base of the head, the head will screw loose a bit.
This tripod has so many features and is so durable. I highly recommend having it. You are not a professional film maker if you don't have a professional tripod like this one.
This is my go to tripod. I use it for all 4 of my Panasonic DVX200s. It can be compact when needed and gets great height when expanded. I also recommend getting the MBAG90PN to carry and protect it. Solid investment.
