I've never been a big fan of tripods. They've always been used only when absolutely necessary and nearly against my will. I've never liked all of the knobs and levers to adjust on tripods to get things roughly right and then all over again to make adjustments. This hydrostatic ballhead has a single...
Have used other Manfrotto Ball Heads with good results. With this one I can continue to use my RC2 Quick Release Plates that were purchased with other heads. This Ball Head is Smooth with just the right amount of drag to keep the camera steady when adjusting camera direction.
Unbelievable strength for it's size. Have used with my Nikon D5 and 600mm.. no problem
I've recommended this ball head to all my students for the past several years. Finally, I purchased one for my professional use.The smooth action, ability to set the friction to fit one's hand strength, and speed in composing the shot make this the ball head to buy - in my opinion. It is durable...
This ballhead is really quite good. The locking mechanism is quick and easy. And once you set it, there's no perceptible movement in the action. Everything except the quick-release. I've since swapped out the RC2 plate system with a normal arca-style mount.
QUALITY PRODUCT
I went with this model to be compatible with my peak design clips and also to overcome frustration I had with other type mounts like the pan tilt and quick release type. This is my first ball head mount and I have to say I wonder why it took me so long to switch.
I recently purchased the Manfrotto 327RC2 and found that it wasn't strong enough to support my Canon 7D Mk II with canon 100-400L IS ii lens attached. Late at night after a beer or two I splurged on the 468MGRC2.
I have a gimbal head but needed a smaller more light weight head for travel and a photographer I know owns this and recommended it to me. This Manfrotto ball head was well worth the investment. This is the second Manfrotto ball head I purchased.
Being a small person with not the strongest hands, I was looking for a ball head that would support a lot of weight and not require much strength to tighten. I thought the hydrostatic feature would make things much easier, but didn't find that to be the case.
