Works very well with my RX10ii. Smooth and tight.I was concerned as other were about the quick shoe not haveing the usual locking pin, but I think the lever lock will break-in and will be fine.
I use the 391RC2 head on both my tripod and Manfrotto Car Window Mount and am thrilled with how smoothly it pivots in all directions. For my field research I have to use a window-mounted scope hundreds of times a day to read color bands of shorebirds.
I use it with my Vortex spotting scope and it does the job well.
Had been told there was a plastic piece on this head but it was not 'cheesy'. It IS cheesy and it is the piece that holds the QR plate/camera! The Manfrotto logo and my years of expereince with Bogen/Manfrotto drew me in.
i'm using it with a Nikon D810 with 24-70mm 2.8F lens which is heavy, this head is fine.
No, it's not a "true" video head but it gets the job don't just fine for me. Spins 360, and for stills can shoot in portrait and landscape. Which knobs to tighten/untighten are intuitive. What more could you ask for?
A very smooth pan head with controls large enough to use in cold weather. My only negative comment is that the quick release plate does not fully lock into the head. When installed on the head, the locking lever sticks out far enough to snag on straps, clothing, etc.
Got this head for a slider. It works well even with a DSLR.Plastic looking material but does the job. When tilting and rotating, it is not as smooth as the others but for just sliding purposes it is okay.
Compact design. Good for small camera.
I purchased this item to use with my Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod. I will use it primarily for birding. The combination of the tripod and the head makes a nice sturdy, yet light weight, platform for my Swaroski 65 MM spotting scope.
