This grip action bullhead has expected Manfrotto build quality. Parts work smoothly and with precision. I use with both Nikon D7100 and D750. Have not used with a lens larger than 70-200 mm but I think this ball head would handle a heavier camera/lens combo just fine.
I have the older, vertical version of this, and it works great, I use it all the time. I thought the horizontal version would make more sense, keep the camera lower, easier to rotate.
I had this for 3 years now. But I recently decided to sell it after using another ballhead (
Easy to use, low profile, customizable
very low weight/load ratio, big and heavy
Love this device! The level is spot on. The only thing I wish it did that my pan head did is rotate 360 at its base. With this unit you have to use the grip to release and rotate. Other than that I like it.
I purchased the Manfrotto Action Grip Tripod head to use mainly for photography. I wasn't sure if this tripod head would work with my digiscope set up due to the weight of the spotting scope. I've tested it out and luckily it works very well. I think it is primarily due to the friction dial.
Have to say I love this for my bird watching scope! This is so fluid but then rock solid when you need it to be. This is just what I have been looking for.
This is a very accurate, easy to use tripod head.It isnt light, but thats good on a light tripod. Screws on easily, comes with a sturdy plate and control is brilliant.
I use this Grip Action Ball Head on my MT190XPro3 aluminum tripod. I like how I can turn the camera so easily and when I release the handle it holds the position for my shot. I really like the fact that it has a safety lock on the bracket that attaches to the bottom of the camera.
works nice; could be smoother action.Rubber plugs covering screws don't go backin after being removed. Missing something? Not good.
Good holding power for its rated weight. Handy to use, well built.
