I am primarily a Landscape photographer, but I shoot events on the side with the occasionalvideo here and there. I use this tripod with a Canon 6D for reference. Ive put this tripod through the paces for the last three months of ownership.
I bought this tripod to replace a 35 year-old Bogen 3021 with Manfrotto 329 pan-tilt head. I can recommend the MK290 almost without reservation. It is sturdy and easy for a very old photographer to handle and manipulate. My single reservation is the quick release mechanism.
Needed a tripod for my new Matterport camera and this did the trick. Lightweight and very powerful.
I love this Tri-Pod. It is super sturdy and very easy to use. The legs are very stable and the head locks down very tight.
After buying inexpensive (cheap) tripods since forever; I finally got tired of the positions slipping, difficult adjustments, etc. This is a quality tripod which is fast and easy to use and adjust.Don't waste your money on lousy tripods. They are not worth the aggravation.
We purchased this tripod for use with our Leica 82 birding scope. It's light enough that I don't mind carrying it on 2+ hour walks. Extremely solid construction and very stable. At this price point there really isn't anything better on the market. Manfrotto is an industry standard for a reason.
This tripod does tripod things pretty well. Tripod on, tripod!
Shipment was prompt.Product meets my needs: smooth operation, stability, and height.
the only concern is the plate where you put the camera on the tripod
Purchased this on the recommendation of Matterport as a good fit for their 3D camera. No problems at all. Easily adjustable legs both in length and angle. My legs need a tension adjustment and the tool to do that is attached to the tripod. Easy, Peazy!
