I bought this to use with a Velbon collapsible monopod. It uses the almost universal rectangular quick release mounts (to attach to the camera body), and was quick to click shut to hold the mount. It also had a small locking lever to lock it all in place.I recommend this product.
Paired with the Manfrotto Element Aluminum Monopod (Red) this head/mono combo make a perfect combination for walking/hiking with the camera. I've paired it with a Nikon D7200 w/ 16 - 80 mm lens which is a mid-weight camera lens combo with no problem.
I haven't had the opportunity to use this yet, but, I do have it on my monopod. It has a great feel to it, and I'm looking forward to using it. Using the quick release plate that came with it allows me to quickly connect to my monopod or my tripod, which is an older Manfrotto/Bogen model.
Great item for anyone using monopods. Lightweight, sturdy and fast to use. Same quick mount as my tripod ball head I use my monopod as a walking stick and then as a tool for photography. Handles my Nikon 750 with lens-no problem
I photograph NFL with a 400 mm 2.8, which is a heavy lens. I was using a ball head and it would get loose and pinch my hand. The Tilt Head gives me enough mobility without getting loose. The quick release is a added benefit when I break down equipment in a hurry.
It works ok after you get use to the locking mech, but the first few times if you are in a hurry to get a shot it might make you wish you got the 360 swivel head.
I use Manfrotto products almost exclusively. This head works very well. Since it is quite inexpensive, I can forgive the lack of elegance in manufacturing, but a little more attention to appearance and smoothness of operation would be helpful. Good value for the cost.
Works well with the 50mm lens tha came with my Canon T5i. But it does not like the 55 - 250mm zoom. The tightening mechanism loosens very quickly.
I purchased this to put on top of my window mount as as instructed please do not do that it only has one range of motion once its mounted to the window mount junk
Low end Manfrotto head perfect for attaching to a cstand for overhead shots - which is what I bought it for.
