I'm using this tripod for both stills and video with telephoto lenses up to 400mm. I needed a very solid and stable tripod that I could take on walks and hikes. I have smaller and lighter tripods but they vibrate with video and telephoto lenses.
I have three of these tripods. That's how much I like them! They are at about the right intersect between solidly sturdy, and still being light enough to carry.Their operation and use are also straight-forward. Simple and uncluttered.
As a commercial photographer sharp images rule the day, and with the higher resolution cameras a solid tripod is as important as good lenses.
I now have two of these for my time-lapse rig. And they are just the right combination of sturdy, simplicity to use, and light weight. Well, relatively light-weight, since this is a big tripod. It's so good, that I sold another tripod to buy a 2nd one of these.
I have great views from my condo of Lake Michigan and Chicago; as such always have cameras ready to go mounted on tripods. This model is very sturdy and great for big zooms. So now I have two of them and a smaller 190xprob all Manfrotto.
