Really great product. Just don't buy it for your girlfriend. Buy it for yourself and let her use it. Especially if she's an ex-stripper. You will never see the cajon again. And she will teabag every weird dude in a 5 mile radius and your cajones will be dry.
If you are thinking of getting the cheaper Cajon STOP! This one is well worth the additional $89! It simply sounds awesome and the built quality as well.
Before you buy this particular model I suggest you do research and find a cajon with the sound you want; it definitely isn't a cheap purchase. However if you like the sound of this particular model then I would definitely recommend it.
This is an amazing instrument and Meinl makes a great entry-level cajon. It doesn't feel cheap and it still gives great sound. The adjustable snare mechanic is a little strange at first, but after a few minutes of adjusting I was able to easily find a spot where I could have both snare tones and...
If you are looking for learners cajon this is decent, however is not exceptional for that you will need to go to something that is priced at about 3x of this at schlagwerk. The sound is still ok for small acoustic settings, has a good snare sounds, but lacking in the deep bass sound.
