The Lensbaby Trio 28 combines three of the company's special effects in one lens for mirrorless camera systems.
Three special effects lenses in one. Slim design. Focuses to 8 inches. Available for multiple systems. Supports full-frame cameras.
Fixed aperture. Manual focus isn't for everybody. No control over strength of effects.
The Trio 28 lens is a great buy, even if most of its value comes from just one of its three optics.
Three lenses in one, Twist optic produces beautiful results, Compact and lightweight design, Fun to use, Good price
Aperture fixed at f/3.5, Sweet, Velvet effects are less cool, Can’t fully match features of standalone lenses
If you’re a regular Lensbaby user, you’ll appreciate getting three optics for the price of one. But that’s only part of the reason to buy one. The three optics give you greater creative flexibility all wrapped up in one lens. —Jon Sienkiewicz
I am using the Trio 28 on my FujiFilm X mount cameras. I have come to expect quality from Lensbaby products and the Trio 28 fits right into the category. It is easy and fun to use. I keep it in my bag, especially when traveling to give me an additional fun way of shooting.
When used to it's strengths, makes fun pictures. There is a learning curve, which for those of us who've shot manual focus for 1/2+ of our lives, is no biggie, and on the Sony, is easy to use peak focusing esp. on Sweet.
Learning manual focus is something I have been wanting to do. This has been fun and creative. I got it for my Olympus Pen 8 and am loving how different it is. I'm really loving the Velvet the most right now, but will try out the other two next. Great Value!
3 lenses in 1...for that price you cannot beat that. It depends what you are looking for, but this little lense which I must admit I have only used indoors for now has produced some sweet photos. Need to take it outdoors. I combined it to my Fuji XT-2.
Just used this lens for an advertising shooting. Really enjoyed the focal length and the twist mode. Very well built and very sharp when focused correctly. Super cool for portraits and landscapes.
Super easy to use. Just pop it on and youre good to go with the 3 different looks built into the lens. The effects are not too strong and are tasteful. Manual focuses easily. The one drag is that the focus is in the center.
Nice idea, but when mounted on a MFT body the effect of these lenses is hardly visible. I think the crop factor of the small 4/3 sensor cuts off most of the effects Id expect to see at the periphery of the image. Im returning this...
Just like it's name, Lensbaby Trio 28 is three lenses in one, each having high visual clarity to produce super photos. I highly recommend...
doesn't work on 4/3. Confirmed by Lensbaby tech support
The focal length makes this lens great for capturing your surroundings. The trio of effects are fun, but one star off as the area of focus must be in the center.
