The Lensbaby Composer Pro II and the Edge 50 optic are a combination that is bound to work for landscape photographers more so than architecture shooters. Photographers that shoot buildings may want to go for something wider. It’s also fun for the portrait photographer.

To let in the word pro in this type of product, might set the expectations a bit too high. It's a toy.. And in that category i find it a bit expensive. The focus ring is a bit wobbly, which makes it really hard to use for video.

I battled between this and the 85 optics. Ive use the 85 and I loved it but I wanted a slightly wider feel. The 50 is a great middle but you do loose a stop of light that the 85 had (f2.8). This means I need to stop the lens one more stop after 3.5 to get a sharper image.

After spending about six months using the Lensbaby Velvet 56 on my a7rii and enjoying the artistic results, I thought I'd try the Composer Pro II with the Edge 50 to obtain more in-focus results when needed.

It has no close focus ability, maybe 16", but otherwise it is pretty cool. It might do pretty good for portraits and wide landscape work.

I enjoy using Lensbaby Composer Pro II. Fun to be creative and experiment with. More flexible range of angles when tilting than a dedicated tilt-shift lens but without the higher expense of a tilt-shift lens. FYI- This isn't a tilt-shift lens. There is no shifting, just a tilting.

Just received this (on-time) yesterday and will be trying it out this weekend. The unit was packed well but I am really surprised that for this price only a flimsy velvet drawstring bag is included. I would have expected something a bit more protective.

I have a number of other Lensbaby products but this has to be my favourite. A slice of sharp focus, surrounded by gorgeous blur...would definitely recommend to anyone...

The metal construction is a big improvement over the previous version.

A fun lens that can create great effects. Only downside is that the lens is not that sharp but then it is not piced as a top lens. It adds variety and interest and only your imagination limits its use.
