Great lens, crisp, not to hard to focus with EVF. Have not tried it in mountains as I have planed yet but works well so far for a prime that is needed at this length. Keep in mind that the minimal focus distance 5' which is not a problem depending on what one wants.

The 135mm f/3.4 APO-Telyt is for you if you find yourself in 'urban exclusion mode' a lot to keep images simple. It's the sharpest lens available in its focal length. It also brings up the smallest frame in any of the Leica M-cameras.

I finally pulled the trigger a few months ago. Well, I've been waiting and searching since quite a while ago to make a final decision to buy the lens. The main issue was focusing the lens with the Leica rangefinder. The turning point was the EVF on M240. Focusing the lens is not a problem at all!

Such a solid little lens. So far so good with image capture. Yes I wish it were a 1.4 like my 50mm Summilux but you can't have it all.I use this on my M10 with a Visoflex so focus is easy.

First, I was surprised that the lens came with the Leica 6-bit coding, which is not mentioned in the product description. So the camera recognizes the lens.Using the Leica M 240, focusing with the rangefinder or with the EVF or via live view is accurate.

After reading many online reviews about this lens, I was hesitant to purchase it. I've read many reports about difficulty in focusing and inconsistent results. However, the thought of using a lens with 135mm reach with a Leica rangefinder was too much temptation to resist. I'm glad I purchased it.

focus is cumbersome. No tab, lots of distance to rotate

Just another great Leica lens. Mechanically and optically it is phenomenal. Not sure if I like its overall performance better than the previous version. The older version only cost me $250 and its bokeh is more pleasing to me.

In the past I've shied away from using the 135m focal length on Leica rangefinder cameras as it can be (and for me usually is) difficult to focus anything past 90mm critically and consistently using the rangefinder.

The Leica 135mm f3.4 Apo-Telyt-M telephoto lens is yet another of the excellent designs coming from the Leica lens works while the firm itself is trying to remain financially solvent.
