It gives confidence to handle all lighting situations. The CA correction is done well and the optical aberrations are also well controlled. No complaints whatsoever.
this is probably my favorite leica lens.....and i have some good ones! use not so easy or a bit time consuming, as at times i find myself looking through the magnifying eyepiece, and then through the view finder for focusing. for architecture, landscape, and even street photography, i LOVE it.
Ive owned it for over a year and used it with my M10. The results are all that youd expect from Leica optics. If you want wide and fast, this is it.
This lens is amazing. No point buying an M and not having the right lenses Its not cheap but its Leica 100% you get what you pay for. I uploaded my my first Picture I took with the 21mm f/1.4 not a bad start I think.
I'm fairly new to photoghraphy, but I like to spoil myself with good gear. I bought the M9 and just love everything about that camera. This lens is an absolute beauty. The best color rendition, crystal clear corner to corner.
Optically and mechanically superb in every way, it would be difficult to make a lens that will outperform it. Small compared to other manufacturers f1.4 lenses it is a large Leica M lens resulting in a front heavy/weighty lens on any Leica body but the resulting images make it worth the slight...
I gave this lens 5 stars, optically it deserves it, this lens performs beautifully and balances nicely on any M body. It is sligtly heavier than most Leica lenses but small for a FF 21mm. Unfortunately Leica has handicapped this lens with regard to filters.
I was at first wary about buying such an expensive lens. Leica being Leica, most of the time you just have to suck it in. I'm a 1 camera 1 lens guy using a 35mm Summilux ASPH for years and I have often found myself wanting to kick the edges of the 35mm to go wider.
I have been working with this lens for only 1 week on an M9. It is without doubt one of the finest I have ever used. At f1.4, central image is extremely well detailed even at the minimum focusing distance of 0.7 meters, thanks to the floating elements.
