As I've been saying, this is LEICA's best 21mm lens ever. I had my own on order only an hour after I got this loaner in my hands. This 21/3.4 is a lens for photographers. The LEICAMAN doesn't make photographs, so he prefers the big, ugly and expensive LEICA SUMMILUX-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH instead as a...
I purchased this lens just days before heading to Cuba for a week-long trip. I wanted this wide-angle lens on my M (Typ240), to go along with a Nikon D5 and 70-200. It was a great combination. As an F/3.4 lens, it's way smaller than the F/1.4 21mm which makes it ideal as a companion on a trip.
Very sharp lens wide open but have little CA. It goes away @ f5.6.
I cannot add anything to the comments of other reviewers except to say that this little lens is simply stunning in every way: Build quality, precision focusing, performance and especially in image quality.
This is an outstanding combination of small size and optical excellence. I routinely shoot it wide open without reservation, especially for interior shots. Great for street shooting, if you can get close to your subject.
There is a lot of talk on the web about Leica lenses and their image quality. Now I'm not able to measure MFTs, chromatic aberration, coma, distortion, etc... so I can't say that all the web talk has not swayed my opinion, but this lens is awesome!
