Regarding picture brightness and contrast:LG suggests this model is well-suited to throwing a 100-inch image. In a dark room it can even go bigger and still look good depending on your chosen screen (avoid high gain screens). For our room an 80-inch picture is ideal for the available space.
If you ever wanted to watch sports or a movie on a really large screen at home you will understand the attraction of this compact, high quality LG projector. No need for a ceiling mount with a bunch of wires running to it, and no need for a real noisy fan.
Lighting in the room is an issue with projectors. If you must have some light in your room then the picture's contrast and color will always be less than ideal. Projectors have always struck me as rather useless in the living room or den where we normally watch TV and movies.
Excellent little projector. I project it straight onto my light gray wall without a screen and I have to say it looks phenomenal. I believe it would look even better if I would use a high quality screen. The brightness of the image is good during day and it is excellent at night.
The EU version does not have the Smart TV features, nor does it have CEC - meaning devices such as the Google Chromecast cannot wake it and turn it off. The US/Korean version does.
So much better than I was expecting, unbelievable value. I have this set up straight on to the wall and the picture is excellent. Don't understand why the US version gets wireless built in and we don't, bit strange but anyway I'm still more than happy!
This projector has everything except the number of lumens needed to watch TV in daylight, which is a real shame. I bought this together with the more expensive Optima GT5000+ with 3000 lumens compared to the 1000 lumens of the LG to see which was best for me.
Our projector is now just over 1 year old. The mirror has a blotch of missing silver, and one dead pixel in the middle of the viewing area! This unit has never been abused, dropped, or upset in any way, and the mirror is deteriorated already?! This is not cool, LG!

My first short-throw projector. I'm pleased with the results. This thing is packed with most of niceties that most user would need: surprisingly good picture quality, Wifi connection, internet, blue-tooth connection to your larger blue-tooth loud speakers, HDMI ports, x2 USB ports, Smart TV...
Fantastic projector! Enjoying a 140" image on my wall from about 2 feet away.
Excellent product, easy to use and excellent image quality. The fan noise however is too loud - hence the 3 stars. If this can be addressed i would rate it 5 stars.
