If I could give zero stars, I would. We’ve been trying to get our unit fixed by LG for a year now. The tray fills with water constantly (we have another one that does NOT do this) and we’ve had their “techs” come out twice now. The first guy had no idea and the second guy said that it’s our job to fix the problem and that we need to put the unit 8 feet in the air and run a drainage tube out of the window. LG told us that we don’t qualify for a replacement and refuse to repair the unit. We’ve tried everything and the water just will not drain properly. It shuts off constantly saying the tray is full and they’re telling us it’s our problem to fix it. Why even have a warrantee if you refuse to replace or fix your products when they malfunction?

Perfect for what we needed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keeps our master bedroom nice and cool. After a 3rd floor renovation, the HVAC was not designed for that large of an area, without making the rest of the lowers levels too frigid. This unit makes up for it, and now we don't have to keep our central air blasting to bring the third floor to a livable temperature.

I like this unit. Works well
I live in a bi-level house where there is only 1 zone of heating and cooling. Upstairs is always 5-7 degrees warmer than downstairs; winter spring summer fall. Doesn't matter. Didn't want a window unit and a mini-split was several thousands installed so I looked into this. This unit is just to augment my upstairs so I can keep my thermostat set at 72-73 and not freeze to death when I'm downstairs. So far I am pleased. Quiet operation and decent cooling output. I would receommend this unit over the 6000 BTU one which is much louder

Great little unit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought this unit and have only been using it a few hours but it works perfectly and integrates to my Amazon Alexa perfectly. Cools my bedroom with ease and is quiet enough for me to sleep with it on. Only snag is that it can't be right up against a wall due to the hose in the rear but I made it work. I will update or change this review should anything go wrong in the future, but for now I'm very satisfied.

Disappointed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] #1 - Makes too much noise. They can send men to the moon, but they can't to make a quiet air conditioner motor!
#2 - It does NOT remove much humidity from the air (it always seems to stay at 70 to 75% humidity. I have 2 humidity gauges and they both read the same.) It makes the air cool but that's only PART of being comfortable in the summer!
#3 - This is a PLUS! It beats taking a window air conditioner in and out of a window!
#4 - It has no ENERGY SAVER function. ALL air conditioners SHOULD and it doesn't say it on the box!
#5 - I sure hope I win that $500's cause it will definitely make up for what I paid for it!!!

Review of the LG LP0821GSSM Air Conditioner
I bought the LG Portable Air Conditioner in July 2022. The AC unit is a very attractive black color, and it wasn't difficult to install. The hose that fits through the window is about 5 inches in diameter.
We set up the AC unit in our den and faced it toward the kitchen. It adequately cooled the den and some of the kitchen. However, the unit did not appear to remove most of the humidity from the room, and the room always felt like it was humid even though the temperature was set to 73 degrees.
In all, the unit cooled the room on some of the hottest days of the summer, and that was a big plus.

Good AC unit to be able to control by phone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this Air conditioner just over a year now. Overall it’s been really great to be able to control the temperature of my house, by my phone, for my dog while I’m at work. It’s nice not needing to run the AC constantly when I leave, just when the temperature starts to get warm. I do wish the app for the AC unit would notify if perhaps the temperature of the room rose past a set limit or something similar as it seems to be recording the temperature on its own anyway. I purchased another device from another company to detect and notify me of the temperature in the room.

Does not cool an area smaaller than advertised
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a building that is 14 by 20 and I choose a cooler that was for a larger area. I had no problem installing the unit BUT it not only could not cool the 280 sq. ft. of area but it could not even hold the temperature as it was when that temp was less than the exterior temp.
The noise varies with power up; one time it sounds like an airliner on takeoff and another time it is a pleasant sound of a fan moving air. Both times started on high.
I do not recommend this unit but if you must buy one go for a larger one than they say you need because it won't cool for you.
