The LG LDS4821ST proves you don't have to spend big bucks to get a good dishwasher. This budget-buy powerhouse scored highest of all the models we tested for cleaning performance on normal cycle, and left our glasses spot-free.

No indicator on the rinse aid dispenser, Struggled with cleaning some cookware
I purchased this unit in 2015. The SUMP was leaking in 2016 and I paid for it to be replaced by a qualified technician. The motor which is part of the sump is supposed to be warranted for 10 years yet I still had to pay for the part. Now another year and half later it is leaking again.
The dishwasher was somewhat easy to install if you know what you are doing. The unit is so quiet that I have to go by and look at the timer to see if it's still running. Only negative comment is that I have to put on my glasses to start it as I cannot read the options without my glasses.

Long Cycle
We've used this dishwasher for about 2 months and it works OK. Some issues: - the lower drawer does not always roll back in smoothly, it seems to fall off its track and/or hit the side wall. It can be difficult to get back on track when fully loaded.
We bought this dishwasher along with several other LG products when we remodeled our kitchen recently. While the other LG products were good investments, I am so disappointed in the dishwasher. I feel that I have realistic expectations about what a dishwasher should do - clean the dishes!
The top rack is not very helpful and because of this the handle hits your foot when you open the door. Can we also talk about the control panel that is light greasy on black and REALLY difficult to see The WORST thing about this is that the spray arms are really difficult to remove for cleaning and...
the best part of this washer is: it is really really quite. At the same time wash is really good and clean. this is energy star machine and keeps us happy. Only the concern is it is a bit long wash cycle.

Concern Is Long Wash Cycl, Not Really Any
The dishwasher has good looks, runs very quiet which I strongly appreciate, the dishes are clean, the finished chimes are very soothing to hear, and the controls are conveniently located. The racking is less than expected but is likely due to learning how to arrange the dishes.
I was thrilled the first time that I ran this dishwasher... it is so quiet compared to my other one (it was 20 years old). But it doesn't clean off any dried foods or get the glasses clean. I also really hate the silverware holder.
