I love this monitor. I have a 16 MBP (thunderbolt3 connection) and a Gen1 Surfacebook (minidp to dp connection), and they are both using the lg dual controller software with my MBP as the primary and my surface book as the secondary. I can get full resolution on both, and use pbp.
One of the main reasons for buying a ultra-wide monitor was to control two computers with one screen and one keyboard / mouse. The Dual Controller software is sketch at best, although I think I got it to work, instructions are marginal at best AND the software occasionally causes my mouse to stop...
This monitor is the ultimate monitor to increase productivity. It has cut hours of work each and everyday.
I had some coding tasks with two monitors when I bought that monitor. I thought UW Monitor would be great, like three monitors in one with split, and I thought that I would not see any mess on my desk which was making me incredibly annoying. It didn't work like what I think.
UPSIDES: I bought this monitor to replace my aging Apply 27" display, and planned on connecting it to my MacBookPro. It is absolutely huge, and I love the fact that I can split the monitor in half, into basically two 27" monitors, with each half using a different connection.
Does not provide full resolution on MacBook Pro. LG is aware of the issue, but not honest about the flaw. No realistic timetable to resolve the issue. Save your cash.
