The LG 38UC99-W is a 38-inch curved-screen monitor that delivers outstanding grayscale, color, and gaming performance. At $1,500, it's a serious investment, but you get plenty of features and screen real estate for your money.

LG’s 38-inch ultrawide is nothing short of jaw-dropping, and from the moment you lay eyes on its curved 4K panel, you’ll wonder how you ever got by with a measly 27-inch or 24-inch monitor. Other screens may come close, but there’s simply no substitute for the LG 38UC99.

Massive size, Sharp, color-accurate image quality, Plenty of connectivity options, Sturdy stand

If you can justify spending $1500 on a monitor, the LG 38UC99 is hard to beat. It combines solid gaming chops with superb color accuracy, tons of screen real estate, and premium-build quality. Even the speakers are well above the rank and file.

The LG 38UC99 is a phenomenal monitor. The width of the screen means you have the work space of two full hd-monitors, while the vertical resolution is a lot higher. Fans of 16:10 1920x1200 monitors should realize that with this monitor they essentially have two 1920x1600 monitors in front of them:...

If you appreciate this review and enjoy reading and like our work, we would welcome a donation to the site to help us continue to make quality and detailed reviews for you. This was the first screen to market in this size and format, and so it was interesting to put the 38UC99 through our tests.

Large screen size and resolution with comfortable pixel pitch, ideal for split screen working and the intended market, Very good factory calibration and setup, Blur Reduction backlight provided despite limited refresh rate or 75Hz
-

Pixel response times are not as good as they could be from a modern IPS panel, Only a moderate contrast ratio for an IPS panel, OSD software a bit chunky and cumbersome

I don't write reviews often but after using this monitor for a couple of weeks now I felt I should....I am a Software Engineer who needs to multi-task quite often while working. I used to use 2x 24 inch ASUS monitors along with my laptop as a 3rd and with this LG monitor, its the only thing I need.

Couldn't be any happier. Perfect match for my MacBook Pro. One usb-c cable from monitor to macbook for charging and sending data. Couldn't make my setup any simpler and having this much real estate especially for editing videos in final cut. You won't be disappointed.

I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone

I can recommend this monitor to media editors and multi task user not good for graphic designer or gamer. for gamer refresh rate bit slow also free sing not support by nvida, we all know major US market gamer using Nvida video card not AMD.

Purchased this for an edit system, thought it was a overpriced compared to a number of other options, but I'm very happy with it. System is setup in a bright area with windows, the antiglare on the surface is perfect. I had to buy a mini-DP to standard DP cable to get 60hz from a MacBook Pro.

This monitor is beautiful, looks great on your desk, and mounts to a VESA easily, its also lighter than others of this size because the power converter is external, which can also be a pain in my opinion. The menu system is good and easy enough to use.

I love the monitor. It feel like the perfect size for what I do. I am Building Designer and use a CAD program. Them monitor feeds all my tools and plenty of room for all my drawings.

The monitor works great for my purposes. The picture is extremely clear & vibrant. I use it for Mac OS X versions 10.12 & 10.13 (Nvidia 750TI / AMD Vega 64) with a Display Port connection (Hackintosh). I also play games with Windows 10.
