The LG 27UD58-B is a nice-looking 4K monitor that delivers vibrant colors, highly detailed picture and excellent gaming performance. In fact, it is one of the few monitors with Screen Split 2.0 feature and on-screen controls, making it unique among its competitors.

  • +

Sharp UHD image detail. Strong gaming performance. AMD FreeSync supported.

  • -

Lacks USB port(s). Doesn’t have speakers.

The resolution is stupendous. A great deal for the money, but the monitor is not very bright and color reproduction is limited. If you want to edit photos, you'll need a different monitor.

I absolutely love 4k. Videos, photographs and even just reading text looks amazing. I definitely appreciate this being an IPS panel. On Windows 10, there are still a few applications that don't support hidpi, but the situation is at the point where I think most people should feel comfortable...

    - Once you go 4k, you won't want to go back!, - IPS screen., - Price. Almost all other 4k monitors at this price are TN panels., - No dead pixels., - Freesync is great if you have an AMD card., - 27" is a perfect size.

  • -

    - No USB-C ports., - Freesync not supported by NVidia., - Stand is not height adjustable.

At extreme viewing angles, colours become more white. This effect isn't extreme enough to completely ruin the picture but it is noticeable. The volume/power/menu is controlled via a small stubby button on the bottom center of the monitor frame which also has joystick-style controls.

  • +

-4K@60Hz is a MAJOR upgrade from 1080p@60Hz -IPS means picture quality is (mostly) retained even at large viewing angles (see other thoughts) -Freesync is an added bonus for AMD users

  • -

-Controls for volume, display on/off and display adjustments are annoying to use and find, but I got used to it -Only three video display plugs: 1 DisplayPort, 2 HDMI for single/dual HDMI setups -The included DisplayPort, HDMI and monitor power cables are very short, about 1.2m(4')

I'd been looking to update my dual monitors to a 34quot; curved UHD. Saw these babies and took the plunge. So glad I did. Can't use them at max resolution (eyes ain't what they used to be).

Purchased for son, he is pleased with the picture and refresh rate. Syncs well with nVidia 1070.

Good monitor with a sharp screen and good price ($299). Perhaps brightness could be higher but otherwise great.

First, I tried a 40-in 4K TV as a monitor. At 4K, I had to sit a normal distance to be able to read it. I found the display too big. Next, a 28-in 4K Samsung TN monitor, also from my local cost company.
