This was an upgrade for my awesome sounding S35 Signature Series Center Channel speaker by Polk Audio. This added a serious level of clarity and depth to out home theater experience. It was worth every penny for that level of quality.
The range of sounds that it can handle comfortably without strain or distortion.
The size is very large, so you need to have space for it in your setup. Not really a con, but should be noted that this is a huge speaker.
Updated my Polk with this one today and listened to cds and just got done watching Star Trek Beyond. Omg super clear sound and a good tight one too. Now my Polk audio 20 year old towers need to be replaced with the 8000. That is the only draw back, money!
Great sound, a lot bigger than the other 4 driver that has the exposed screws. I think the bigger 2 driver would've been enough for me but at the time 100 dollar difference it didn't make sense.
I bought this RP-450C with the intent of testing it against a Klipsch RP600C I already owned. I wanted to see if there was an improvement in the sound. I have had this hooked up for only a few days and I can already tell it is a keeper. Great sound and it seems to emphasize the bass.
Very efficient speaker, great sound.
Must have room for mounting, rather large.
Sounds as good as it looks! Couldn’t have been happier with my purchase. The only thing is that I should've got it sooner! I have it paired with Reference Premiere dual 8” towers along with the new and improved spl150 and spl120 bass cannons.
For several years, I had trouble listening to dialog using my older, much smaller Center Channel. My entertainment room has a high ceiling, and is part of open concept area. I researched Center channels for months, reading many many reviews. I waited about 6 months for this speaker to go on sale.
Purchased this RP-450C to complement a pair of Klipsch RP-280F; I find it quite effective with respect to enhancing dialog comprehension in movies. It provides a sharpness and clarity that I really appreciate.
Excellent price/performance ratio especially when discounted down to this price.
A slight recess for fingers at each end would make it easier to grab and lift when this speaker is located within in a tight space.Being relatively heavy (36 lbs) and having no physical feature to grab it can present a challenge during initial setups.
Huge full body sound paired with an amazing aesthetics. Can be admired for hours and hours on end
I really can't imagine any center channel anywhere else by any other brand that sounds as good as this does at this price point. Even at double or triple this price point. Dialogue is extremely clear, detailed, and conveys beautiful depth, all combined producing an excellent sound stage for movies...
The RP-450C speaker is a fabulous center channel with a great range of frequencies for any type of entertainment sounds played through it. The clarity of sound and palpable lower notes make this a very, very good center channel speaker. The only thing that took me back is the shear size of this box.
Mix of frequency, clarity
