I bought this based on the reviews. However, when i got it home and tried it on both my D90 and D300 is was slow and had a hard time focusing in Auto modes. If I tried to use it with my 55-300mm or my 18-270 it was unable to hunt properly.
This is a good quality converter for the price. But a heads up to anyone that wants to use it with a reflector lens. I'm using a Canon Rebel T5i and I have to put a thin strip of cellophane tape over the contacts on the converter.
Works great with Canon lenses. I place it between my EOS 70D and my Canon 28X300 Zoom lens to get 56X600! This is great for long distance nature shots ( hawk in a tall tree 100 yards away), or to get great road racing shots on the other side of the track (Road Atlanta at turn five). Great device.
So far after a months usage I have no regrets at all in this purchase. I had the opportunity of testingg it against the Canon version and it was Canon's equal. I recommend this.
This extender works perfect on my canon 5D mark three and from what I have read before taking the plunge, they are as good as the canons and 1/2 the price.
very good works well with my lens
Very pleased with this, need a tripod on longer zoom lenses but you do with any long distance lens to prevent camera shake
Works fine in direct sunlight but on my Nikon 18-300 it did hunt badly. Thought I might get away with it but in the end returned it the same day
Good quality but autofocus struggled, but as Most of my shots will at infinity or near then manual focus not and issue
