Presented at the NAMM 2011 and already available since this summer, the Kronos represents a new step in the workstation market — a cruel world where every product becomes immediately obsolete as soon as the successor is launched.

Sound quality and versatility, Incredible overall performance, Simultaneous multiple synthesis, Dynamic voice management, Well thought-out design, Inaudible transition between programs, Size of the internal memory, Samples streaming (SGX-1 piano banks), Modulation possibility at every stage, Very...

... because it turns too complex to be easy to use, Boot time should be shorter, No real hardware pads, The RAM of the sequencer and the limitation to 16 MIDI tracks, Some checkboxes are too small on the display, No streaming for user samples (yet), No wind instruments (brass, woods) modeling (yet)
I use the Kronos as a music workstation. I play some guitar but decided to upgrade an older midi keyboard. I am blown away by the quality, the interface, and the capabilities. Even though I am just a music hobbyist I was able to start jamming along nicely thanks to the drum track available for any...
This is an amazing product. Korg has done it again. A 16 track midi sequencer, sampler AND a 16 track audio recorder all in one package. With the exception of only having two inputs for audio recording, you really can't ask for anything more. Can't wait to see what Korg comes up with next.
Im the Keyboard player in Grupo Love secreto from Chicago Illinois. Its an excelent piece of gear and it really does the job when it comes to do midi routings and its user friendly. Great sampler, great update from previous korg workstations.
im a korg user from x5d, x50, m1, trinity, triton, triton extreme, m3. After a while i switched to yamaha motif series from the classic to XF. And my secondary board is a fantom G.
I can't speak as an experienced keys player. If you don't have much experience with synthesizers (as I didn't when I bought this), you will definitely have to put in a good amount of time researching and learning about the Korg Kronos. I did just that, and I couldn't be more pleased.
This is my 2nd Kronos 2 that i purchased through Sweetwater not including a Kronos 2 73 Key model i own, If not one of the best keyboards you can own, tons of functionality and expansions for this and plenty of Ram for sampling my own sounds.
This is my desert island, if I only have one, keyboard for every situation. I started with the original Kronos 61, the upped to a Kronos 2 73. Now I've added the Kronos 2 61. The original stays in my home studio. The 2 Kronos 2's make a great live setup, covering every sound.
The good: Nine engines to work with. Each with their own polyphony. Being able to design your own sounds from the ground up using different synth engines is great. Sound quality for these engines are fantastic.
The Kronos is a home run keyboard packed with outstanding piano, organ, synth and pads. I also have a Kronos 88, both are the current version 2 running OS 3.0.4. With multiple synth engines and up to 200 voices, these are hard to beat as a primary keyboard.
I owned a first generation Kronos 61 several years ago and loved it. For financial reasons I sold it. Since then Ive gone back and forth with gear. I decided to dive back into Kronos after buying a Minilogue and King Korg and fell deeply in love with both.
