JBL Professional has made a name for itself by producing great sounding PA systems. With the introduction of the SRX800 line of powered portable PA loudspeakers, JBL has set the standard for what a fully professional powered PA system should be.
I took my time and did the research it was between EV QSC and JBL. I almost jumped on the band wagon with the other DJ's who often complain about weight and size. I want a professional P.A. not another dj setup that played tricks. I found it in the JBL SRX 828 and 835's.
These are really good for the money and I highly recommend these subs to anyone doing large gigs
Don't pay attention to the previous review. I had 4 EV ETX18SP subwoofers that destroy the QSC KW181s and sold those for the JBL. The EV were great but JBL did not hold back on these, I've been a fan of the SRX728S since they came out and so have many sound professionals.
Have only had these subs for a few shows, but am very impressed, run these along side QSC W181 subs and they are quite comparable in performance, good bottom end and punch when you need it the on board DSP is great for dialing in the low end you want when accessed through the network app .
After doing research for almost a year on what sub set up to go with I landed on the dual 18 SRX powered unit. I also run EV EKX, JBL PRX, and QSC KW, subs all powered....the sub is beautiful and packed with features but extremely underpowered for a dual sub.
I been working with the more powerful bass boss subs and this almost get as loud as them 18 doubles, and for half the price, only downside is not speaker hole to mount a speaker
This is a great sub. I already owned a few and I keep adding more to my set up.
Sounds great and perfect for live events. Would definitely tecommend these subwoofers .
Best subwoofer I own, can't wait to get another...
